How Connections Unlimited works

Each puzzle is a past New York Times Connections board, exactly as it was published: sixteen words, four hidden groups of four. Select four words and submit. You get four mistakes per puzzle, and “One away…” means three of your four belong together.

Stuck? The hint button shows one group’s category, easiest first, without naming its words. Solved puzzles are remembered on this device, so “Next unsolved” always takes you somewhere new. Every puzzle has its own link: add #1000 to this page’s address to jump straight to puzzle 1,000.

The archive runs from #1 (Monday, June 12, 2023) to #1224 (Saturday, October 17, 2026), and a new puzzle is added every day. A handful of special picture puzzles, such as April Fools’ Day, aren’t included because their tiles were images.
